This year’s Selah Community Days parade featured a few unexpected guests. Rabbits and chickens in decorated strollers from the non-profit Embrace Healing joined the Solarity crew along the parade route.
The animals quickly became a crowd favorite during the parade, with kids waving, laughing and stopping for photos along the route. The fun continued at the carnival, where families could visit a free petting zoo and spend time with the animals up close throughout the day.

Solarity was proud to sponsor the petting zoo and support Embrace Healing’s efforts throughout the event. In addition to helping make the free petting zoo possible for families, Solarity also matched donations during the event and helped fund the purchase of the fencing needed to safely host the animals at the carnival.
The partnership also helped bring attention to the work Embrace Healing does for children and families in our community. Their organization supports children recovering from trauma by creating opportunities for connection, healing and support in a safe environment.
Seeing families gather together around something simple and joyful like a petting zoo made the event feel especially meaningful. Community events like Selah Community Days create opportunities for local organizations to come together, meet families where they are and support causes that have a lasting impact on the people around us.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the petting zoo, cheered during the parade and helped make the weekend such a memorable event. We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with organizations like Embrace Healing and support the important work they do in our community.
