Solarity surpasses blood drive goals, filling critical need in the Yakima Valley
Solarity Credit Union teamed up with the Red Cross Yakima Blood Donation Center to host two blood drives in 2024, collecting desperately needed units of blood, including power red (concentrated red blood cells). The Red Cross set a goal of 42 units for the credit union’s blood drives; Solarity members and employees blew past the goal, donating 63 units. This incredible effort has the potential to save or improve up to 189 lives.
"This donation is remarkable,” said JayAnn Chacon, Donor Recruitment Account Manager with the Pacific Northwest Blood Services Region of the Red Cross. “It’s rare for a first-time location to have such a successful drive, and Solarity exceeded our expectations for sure.” She added, “We’re so grateful for the generosity they’ve shown and for rallying together to help fill this need!
